‘5G’, the 5th generation mobile networks have been marketed extensively as a quantum jump from our current network. 5G promises to be a versatile network with faster speeds, millions of simultaneous connections, wired equivalent reliability with low latency, enabling a range of use cases for a variety of users – people, IOT devices, autonomous machines etc. It opens up millimeter frequency bands to deliver much higher data speeds than previously possible — speeds of up to 20 GBPS have been recorded.
